Amid the turmoil of Lisa Marie Presley’s contentious divorce from fourth husband Michael Lockwood, the couple’s young twins are being cared for by their grandmother.

“There is lots of confusion, commotion and concern from all the talk circulating,” businesswoman Priscilla Presley, Lisa Marie’s mother, wrote on Facebook. “Let me put this to rest . . . the girls have not been in foster care and never will be. The girls have been with me and will be until all this is sorted out.”

Priscilla Presley, 71, was married to rock icon Elvis Presley from 1967 to 1973, though they remained friendly and continued to raise their daughter together until his death in 1977.

Singer-songwriter Lisa Marie Presley, 49, who with her mother is a co-trustee of Elvis Presley’s estate, married musician Lockwood in January 2006. Their twin daughters Finley and Harper were born Oct. 7, 2008. Presley filed for divorce this past June, making allegations of child abuse against Lockwood, which his attorneys in a statement called “a one-sided, inaccurate version of the facts” and “highly sensational, inaccurate and unproven claims.”

Lisa Marie Presley has two adult children, son Brian and actress Riley Keough, with first husband Danny Keough. She later was married to and divorced from music star Michael Jackson and actor Nicolas Cage.
