Next season the last for "30 Rock"?
Will next season be the last for NBC's Emmy-winning comedy "30 Rock?"
Series star Alec Baldwin indicated as much Tuesday night at a Manhattan gala for the National Dance Institute, New York magazine reported.
"I will tell you one thing. And that is our show next year is our last year of the show," he told the audience. "Our contracts are expired (in 2012), and Tina [Fey] is gonna have a big career directing films and writing. . . . She's going to be the next Elaine May. She'll be great."
NBC had no official comment.
Baldwin recently signed on to star opposite Tom Cruise in the film version of the Broadway musical "Rock of Ages." Meanwhile, Fey is branching out beyond TV: her humorous memoir "Bossypants" hit bookstores Tuesday.
While never attracting a huge viewership, "30 Rock" has been a critics' darling and has won the Emmy for outstanding comedy three times. Baldwin has won two Emmys for best actor in a comedy; Fey has taken home one Emmy for best actress in a comedy.
