Tweet: Ryan Gosling saves pedestrian from crash
It's Ryan Gosling to the rescue.
The 31-year-old actor was a real-life hero Tuesday night, reportedly helping British writer Laurie Penny avoid getting hit by a taxi in Manhattan.
"I literally, LITERALLY just got saved from a car by Ryan Gosling. Literally. That actually just happened," Penny tweeted after the save, which happened around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. "I was crossing 6th avenue in a new pink wig. Not looking the right way because I am from London. Ryan Gosling grabbed me away from a taxi."
"He said 'hey, watch out!' " added Penny, who writes for U.K. publications The Guardian and the New Statesman.
A rep for Gosling didn't return a call for confirmation Wednesday, but Penny said another pedestrian witnessed Gosling's actions.
Penny, meanwhile, tweeted Wednesday that the entire incident was overhyped: "I really think it's a bit of a fuss over not very much. It did make me laugh, but life goes on."
This isn't the "Crazy, Stupid, Love" star's first brush with heroics. Last August, he helped break up a fight in the East Village -- a feat caught on video.
