Hollywood Life: Natalie Portman calls Oscar 'false idol'
Natalie Portman seems to have misplaced her Oscar.
The Syosset High School graduate, who won the Best Actress statuette for her role in "Black Swan" (2010), told The Hollywood Reporter she has no idea what she did with her award. "I think it's in the safe or something. I don't know. I haven't seen it in a while," said Portman, who lives in Paris with her husband, dancer-choreographer Benjamin Millepied, and their son, Aleph, 3.
Portman, who turns 34 next month, added that the award doesn't hold much importance for her. "I was reading the story of Abraham to my child and talking about, like, not worshipping false idols. And this is literally like gold men. This is literally worshipping gold idols -- if you worship it," she said. "That's why it's not displayed on the wall. It's a false idol."
Proposal Ed can't refuse
Fans at Ed Sheeran's show in Austin, Texas, Wednesday got a surprise during his performance of "All of the Stars." Sheeran saw a fan waving a sign that said he wanted to propose to his girlfriend on stage. He stopped singing and said: "I never actually do this . . . but I've just had a dude, second row hold a sign up for me during the whole concert. Do you wanna come up on stage?" The English singer sat on a speaker and watched the proposal. He shared video of the moment on Twitter Thursday.
