WHO Josh Hutcherson

THE DEAL The young star of "The Kids Are All Right" is getting an even bigger break as one of the male leads in Lionsgate's adaptation of Suzanne Collins' hugely popular young-adult sci-fi novel. At 18, Hutcherson is almost a Hollywood veteran, with a resume that includes "Bridge to Terabithia," "Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant" and a near-miss at becoming the new Spider-Man. Hutcherson will star opposite another newly announced cast member, the 21-year-old Australian Liam Hemsworth, recently seen in the Miley Cyrus vehicle "The Last Song."

WHO Sean Hayes

THE MOVIE Untitled Three Stooges film

THE DEAL The "Will & Grace" actor has been chosen to play the frizzy-haired Larry Fine in the long-gestating Farrelly brothers film about the legendary slapstick trio, according to Deadline.com. Hayes is the second officially announced member of the main cast, following the Canadian comedian Will Sasso, of Fox's "MADtv," who will play Curly Howard. As of press time, the search was still on for an actor to play Curly's irascible brother Moe.

THE MOVIE "Queen to Play"

THE DEAL Kevin Kline, in his first French-speaking role, and Sandrine Bonnaire ("Vagabond") star in this drama about a housemaid who discovers a knack for chess and finds an unlikely tutor in a reclusive American doctor. The film is playing in Manhattan only but will screen locally as part of the Furman Film Series with chess champion Rusudan "Rusa" Goletiani appearing in person.
