'Titanic' deleted scene stars Kathy Bates making a terrible joke

It's so bad it's good.

Fans who have watched "Titanic" closely (so, everyone) have likely picked up on its subtle jokes and the not-so-subtle foreshadowing of the ship's demise. Case in point: The scene in which Rose's (Kate Winslet) fiance, Cal (Billy Zane), knocks an early painting by Pablo Picasso, saying "he'll never amount to a thing." Or when Cal says "God himself could not sink this ship." So many jokes, Cal.

But a scene that didn't make it into the 1997 film contains probably the best/worst joke, made by none other than Kathy Bates, who plays the "unsinkable" Molly Brown.

Would "Titanic" still have won the best picture Oscar that year if this scene didn't end up on the cutting room floor? Probably.
