Beastie Boys make 'Noise' with friends
The Beastie Boys have certainly brought out the big guns for the 30-minute video for their new single "Make Some Noise," also known as "Fight for Your Right -- Revisited," promoting their upcoming album "Hot Sauce Committee Part Two," due out May 3.
The video, directed by Beastie Adam Yauch, will tell the tale of Beastie Boys "past, present and future." At some point, these groups battle in a "super-fresh, old-school throwdown dance contest from the future." Group One features "future Beasties" Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly and Jack Black, while Group Two has Elijah Wood, Seth Rogen and Danny McBride as the "Beasties past." There are plenty of other cameos -- including Susan Sarandon, Will Arnett, Stanley Tucci, Ted Danson and Chloë Sevigny -- and the massive rollout for the video included much of the Viacom spectrum, from MTV to Comedy Central to Spike. It will make its online debut at 6 p.m. April 29 on the websites of MTV, VH1, Spike and others.
Apparently, the Beasties haven't been idle during Yauch's recovery from cancer, which was diagnosed in 2009 and led to the delay of "Hot Sauce Committee," which already had been completed. Now, the Beasties -- and their famous friends -- all appear ready to "Kick it!" once again.
