The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s list of inductors for this year’s ceremony at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel is just as wildly diverse as the artists they are honoring.
The Hall of Fame announced today that Barry Gibb and Robin Gibb will induct Abba, Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong will handle the duties for The Stooges and Wyclef Jean will honor Jimmy Cliff. The influences of the soon-to-be Hall of Famers on these inductors seems pretty clear.
It’s a little less clear – but isn’t that what makes the ceremony more fun? – how Trey Anastasio will induct Genesis or the always-interesting Steven Van Zandt will honor The Hollies. Also, set is Jackson Browne to honor David Geffen, while Carole King will induct Barry Mann & Cynthia Weil, Ellie Greenwich & Jeff Barry, Jesse Stone, Mort Shuman, and Otis Blackwell.
The event will air live on Fuse on March 15.
