I Ignite frontman Eddie Raccioppi laughs when asked if his band’s new EP “These Lessons Learned” (I Ignite) sounds even more intense than his previous work.

“We’re a little more angry now,” he says.

The Selden rockers, who will celebrate the release of “These Lessons Learned” at Amityville Music Hall on Saturday, March 17, were building a following on the strength of the 2014 EP “Come to Life.” But after the exit of two members, Raccioppi says the band found itself unable to perform live for a while, though he kept working on new music.

“We tried to find the balance between being radio-friendly and being heavier,” he says. “We wanted to keep the old fans happy, but also bring in some new fans.”

New songs like “Frenemy” and “The Life I Live” manage to be catchy, while including more roaring guitars and rougher vocals from Raccioppi.

I Ignite plans to produce videos for all six of the songs on the EP, but the lyric video for “Thank You,” which features photos of fans who have supported the band, may be the most special to them.

“We’re working to rebuild the fan base that we once had,” Raccioppi says. “We just have so much gratitude for being able to do this.”
