Lindsay Lohan, who is slated to return to the big screen this summer in "Freakier Friday," could next be making a leap to the small screen.

On Wednesday, Variety reported that the Cold Spring Harbor- and Merrick-raised actor is on board as star and executive producer of "Count My Lies," a new Hulu series in development from "This Is Us" showrunners Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger. The dark drama is based on Sophie Stava's same-name debut novel and centers on a compulsive liar who is hired as a nanny by a wealthy, glamorous woman (Lohan). As the story unfolds, it is revealed that Lohan's character and her husband are harboring some dangerous secrets that could wreak havoc on everyone's lives.

If the show gets the green light, it would mark Lohan's first foray as a TV series lead, though she's no stranger to the medium. In recent years, she's guest starred on a number of series, including "Ugly Betty," "2 Broke Girls" and "Glee," where she played herself.

Lohan, 38, has been quite busy since her return to acting in 2022 ago with the Netflix holiday flick "Falling for Christmas." Last year she starred in the Netflix rom-coms "Irish Wish" — which bore a resemblance to "My Best Friend's Wedding" — and another Yuletide offering, "Our Little Secret."

On Aug. 8, Lohan will reunite with Jamie Lee Curtis in the theatrical release "Freakier Friday," a sequel to their 2003 movie hit, "Freaky Friday." In the original they played a mother and her teenage daughter who switch bodies, roles played by Barbara Harris and Jodie Foster in the 1976 original version. In "Freakier Friday," Lohan and Curtis reprise their roles, with the former now having a daughter of her own and a soon-to-be stepdaughter. A trailer for the movie came out last month.
