Joan Jett's 'Any Weather' sets upbeat tone
Joan Jett & The Blackhearts' fantastic new single, "Any Weather" (Blackheart), uses the stripped-down simplicity of late-'70s punk to create her catchiest sing-along in decades.
"We could stay together through any weather," she declares, over sunny harmonies, festive hand claps, roaring guitars. "We could stay together through anything!"
As the first single from the upcoming "Unvarnished" album, her first in seven years, it sets an upbeat tone for a collection serving to rally her beloved Long Beach after superstorm Sandy, as well as those who have suffered losses the way she has.
