Lady Gaga unveils "Judas"
With “Judas” (Interscope), Lady Gaga shows that she can still outsmart her critics.
She lures The Catholic League into condemning and promoting the song by using religious imagery and the point of view of Mary Magdalene for what is essentially a retelling of “Bad Romance,” both lyrically and in its immediately irresistible chorus.
For those who thought “Born This Way” was too straightforward musically, she throws in a slight bit of electronic experimentation in the verses. The result is another well-crafted smash.
