USA For Africa meet in Los Angeles for the recording of "We Are The World," the song and video. Forty-five American recording artists joined voices to aid the hungry people of Africa. The historic coalition of stars calling themselves, USA For Africa, recorded and original song by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie titled, "We Are The World," produced by Quincy Jones in a ten-hour session that began at 10pm on January 28th and concluded at 8am the next morning. Quincy Jones "For Michael to be taken away from us so suddenly at such a young age, I just don't have the words," said Jones, who produced "Thriller."
