Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber adopt a dog

Pop power couple Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber have adopted a puppy, according to People.

While in Canada on Friday, the couple headed to D'Arcy's Animal Rescue Centre in Winnipeg and spent hours in the shelter picking out the right pooch.

They ended up with a 10-week-old husky mix they named Baylor. The dog was adopted in 19-year-old Gomez’s name.

"I wasn't expecting her to adopt a dog while she was on tour and has a busy schedule," the chief executive of the center D'Arcy Johnston told People.

But Gomez is no stranger to rescue pups. The singer owns five rescue dogs.

"They spent a lot of time with the puppies," Johnston told People. "I was told that [Gomez] was missing the dogs that she has at home."

And it seems Gomez and Baylor are getting along well. Early Tuesday morning, she tweeted a picture of her sleeping next to her new puppy purchase.
