People from all walks of life will be represented on Long Island's regional stages this spring. Among the assorted characters are a Southern waitress, a Russian milkman, a blonde law student, 12 angry jurors and even the Man in Black.

Country music legend Johnny Cash is at the center of this jukebox musical that features 38 of his songs, including "I Walk the Line," "I've Been Everywhere" and the title number. 631-928-9100, theatrethree.com

Let it snow and "Let It Go" are the themes of this big Disney musical making its Long Island premiere. In case you've been living under a block of ice, it's about two sisters in the wintry kingdom of Arendelle who are separated and then reunited. 631-286-1133, thegateway.org

WAITRESS (John W. FIDDLER ON THE ROOF (The Argyle Theatre, 34 W. Main St., Babylon, April 24-June 15) A milkman in the Russian Empire’s Pale of Settlement deals with the plight of marrying off his daughters as well as political turmoil in his country. Engeman Theater, 250 Main St., Northport, May 15-June 29) On a South Pacific island during World War II, a Navy nurse falls for a dashing Frenchman, but their romance encounters several hurdles, including a secret mission and prejudice. Set during World War II, it's about a romance between a bomb disposal officer and a USO performer.

HALF TIME (Theatre Three, 412 Main St., Port Jefferson, May 24-June 22) From the incredible but true files comes this saga of 10 dancers — all over 60 — who audition for a basketball halftime show.
