Saturday night's show at 54 Below in Manhattan pairs two TV families that should go together better than pork chops and applesauce.

"Brady vs. Partridge: The Bardy Bunch," by Huntington playwright Steve Garvey, tells the story of two lovely sitcom clans engaged in a fight-to-the-finish sing-off when they're double-booked at the cabaret.

The show is a streamlined version of Garvey's Off-Broadway play -- a mashup of "The Brady Bunch," "The Partridge Family" and Shakespeare -- that ran last year.

"This version plays more like a '70s variety show. They're singing for the vote of the audience to see which '70s sitcom family will rule supreme," Garvey says.

Peppered between songs -- which include both groups' hits as well as '70s AM radio classics -- are references to everything from the Bradys' now-you-see-him, now-you-don't pooch, Tiger, to the Partridges' trippy bus.

"We all kind of wonder, what if the Bradys and the Partridges met, how would they get along? Would they like each other, would they hate each other?" Garvey says. "And, of course, hate makes for much better theater."
