These days, Fashion Week has monopolized the style scene but still, the dress with the biggest buzz of late has been the Tracy Reese number that Michelle Obama wore for her speech at the Democratic convention last week.

Was the dress transmitting a special message? “Yes,” said Reese backstage after her Sunday runway show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. “It says, I’m a strong, beautiful woman, and I’m feminine, but I’m not afraid to show my strength.”

Others at the show had a message for the dress. “Oh, my gosh, I want to wear it,” said celebrity chef and author Katie Lee, who was wearing a Reese design at the show. “Michelle Obama is an emblem of style. When I saw it, it gave me chills.”
