Arnold Schwarzenegger is set to star in an Amazon streaming series, the Western “Outrider.”

Deadline.com said Tuesday that the film star and former California governor would play a federal marshal who immigrated to the United States from Europe as a child. Set in the late 1800s in Indian Territory — extant from 1834 to 1907 in part of what is now Oklahoma — the dark drama from Trey Callaway (Fox’s “APB,” CBS’ “CSI: NY”) and Mark Montgomery follows the marshal and a deputy as they seek a famed outlaw.

This would be the first dramatic TV-series role for Schwarzenegger, who appeared as a police lieutenant in the 2015 series finale of sitcom “Two and a Half Men” and hosted one season of the reality competition show “The New Celebrity Apprentice.”
