Reality Check: Christopher Stallworth, of West Babylon, no longer on 'Golden Bachelorette'

Christopher Stallworth, the 64-year-old contractor from West Babylon on this inaugural season of the ABC dating competition “The Golden Bachelorette,” became one of four bachelors eliminated in the second episode.

Before being denied a rose at the episode's climactic ceremony, Stallworth was one of nine men on a group date with star Joan Vassos, 61. In the ensuing talent show, he performed yo-yo tricks.

“Thank you to The Golden Bachelorette show for making me part of the premiere,” Stallworth wrote Friday on Instagram.

The Central Islip High School graduate is co-owner and co-chief executive of Contracting Specialists LLC. The website of the Lindenhurst-based firm notes that its owners “are the third and fourth generation continuing the legacy that started with our grandfather.”

Also eliminated were Bob Kilroy, Jack Lencioni and Michael Stevens

Much ado about 'Nothing'

“Dancing with the Stars” judge Carrie Ann Inaba says she was “taken aback” by paroled con artist Anna Delvey’s answer when, upon being eliminated on this season’s premiere, replied, “Nothing” when co-host Julianne Hough asked, “What are you going to take away from this competition.” The clip of Delvey’s chuckled answer went viral.

“That was dismissive not only of the opportunity she was given, of her wonderful and supportive partner Ezra [Sosa] in his debut season, but also of all of us who work on the show — from the dancers to behind the scenes to the creative team,” Inaba, 56, told Entertainment Weekly. “We all put in the effort to give her a fair opportunity. But I don’t think she could see that and it’s a shame. A little gratitude could have changed the narrative.”

Sosa, 23, was more sanguine, telling the entertainment news show “Extra,” “I knew she was going to say something very iconic and something very ‘Anna Delvey’ with her exit. Of course she has to — it’s very typical. We would expect nothing less of her.”

But, he added, backstage afterward she “honestly kept on apologizing to me. She felt super sorry that my first season was cut short."

Actor-producer Tori Spelling also was eliminated on the premiere.

The Russia-born, Germany-raised Delvey, real name Anna Sorokin, was convicted in 2019 of grand larceny and other charges for impersonating a German heiress and soliciting donations to a fake foundation. Paroled in 2021 and now under house arrest while fighting deportation, she competed while wearing an ankle monitor.

Delvey was the subject of the 2022 Netflix miniseries “Inventing Anna,” where she was played by Julia Garner.

“Grateful for all my amazing supporters who are smart enough to recognize and appreciate humor,” Delvey, 33, wrote Thursday on Instagram Stories, where posts cycle out after 24 hours, adding puckishly, “Love and thanks for NOTHING!”
