2. Whisker world: Without question, 2013 was the year of the beard. George Clooney, Hugh Jackman and Ben Affleck made a “Duck Dynasty” move at the 2013 Academy Awards though their groomed beards were more Beverly Hills than mountaineer. But they weren’t the only ones going grizzly. The World Series champion Red Sox, a superstitious lot, began growing their beards for good luck during spring training and by the end of the season, many were truly wild and woolly. More recently, things were getting hairy with the men folk on the “Today Show.” For the month of “Movember,” all the anchors tossed their razors to raise awareness about men’s health issues. Duck Commander, the duck-call and hunting-goods company owned by the Robertson family of A&E's "Duck Dynasty," has launched its own line of firearms, CNN reports. The 94-year-old gun manufacturer O.F. Mossberg & Sons of North Haven, Conn., has begun shipping to dealers nine different shotguns, two semi-automatic rifles and a semi-automatic pistol. The guns come in a "waterfowl pattern" camouflage design and bear the Duck Commander logo. Mossberg, which had announced the agreement in June, said the guns each come with an American flag bandanna like the one worn on the show by Willie Robertson, CEO of Duck Commander.
