Lauren Alaina tops Miley Cyrus on 'The Climb' on 'American Idol'

Lauren Alaina is singing "The Climb" on "American Idol." She's told by the mentors she's a much better singer than Miley Cyrus. But still, she may get cut this week. Neither of the women are safe.

Starts out slow and soulful and husky. She seems like a star, it's a really good choice. She brings the power on the chorus.

Very sincere, the lyrics actually work when she sings them. A bit pitchy on a high note in the middle, but her best performance of the finals.

Biiiig ovation at the end. "I loved hearing you sing that," says Jennifer Lopez. Randy Jackson says she's "roaring back," calls it an "amazing job." Steven Tyler loves her, as always.
