With TLC's controversial reality show "Breaking Amish" returning for a second season at 10 p.m. Sunday, here are five other times we've seen the Amish depicted on TV:

Aaron's Way (1988, NBC) -- Merlin Olsen starred in this drama as the patriarch of an Amish family who uprooted his family and moved his clan from Pennsylvania to California after his eldest son (who had abandoned his roots) died there.

Amish in the City (2004, UPN) -- Reality series that followed five Amish teenagers experiencing "English" (non-Amish) culture by living in a house with six non-Amish teens.

Amish Grace (2010, Lifetime Movie Network) -- Made-for-TV movie based on the 2006 fatal shooting of five Amish children in a Nickel Mines, Pa., schoolhouse.

Family Guy (2011, Fox) -- In the "Amish Guy" episode of the raunchy animated comedy, the Griffin family's car breaks down in Amish country as they return from vacation. The family must learn to adjust to the community for the weekend, until they can fix their car. Meanwhile, daughter Meg falls in love with an Amish boy.

2 Broke Girls (2012, CBS) -- In the "And the Three Boys With Wood" episode, Max (Kat Dennings) and Caroline (Beth Behr) hire two Amish boys who are on their rumspringa (a sanctioned period when Amish teens are allowed to taste the outside world) to build a barn for Caroline's horse, Chestnut.
