Parker Posey joins ‘Lost in Space’ Netflix reboot

Danger, Will Robinson! Parker Posey will be playing the nefarious Dr. Smith in Netflix’s upcoming remake of the 1960s sci-fi series “Lost in Space.”
Deadline.com reports that the prolific actress, 48, whose films this year include Woody Allen’s “Café Society” and Christopher Guest’s “Mascots,” joins Toby Stephens (“Black Sails”), Maxwell Jenkins (“Sense8”), Taylor Russell (“Falling Skies”) and Molly Parker (“House of Cards”) in the 10-episode series, set for 2018.
Jonathan Harris played Dr. Zachary Smith in Irwin Allen’s original 1965-68 CBS series about a spacefaring family stranded light-years from their planned destination, with Gary Oldman taking the role in the 1998 movie adaptation.
