Rick Sanchez apology tour: 'GMA'

amny
The Rick Sanchez apology train pulled into "Good Morning America" this morning, and he says "I screwed up." Etc. "They were wrong, they were offensive" -- those things, he said. Then he gets in a plug for the new book.
This is all getting to be a bit much -- considering that ninety-nine-point-nine percent of all humanity have never even heard of Rick even though I am happy to be among the .001 percent. He really got fired (I suspect) because the new boss of CNN got stuck with him, and suddenly had a convenient excuse to get rid of him. That's kind of the way it works in TV and in the world in general.
This gets a little odd, too, as Sanchez is wont to be. He says not a "single Hispanic" is hosting a primetime news show. George Stephanopoulos then says "20/20," referring of course to Elizabeth Vargas. Then he says "I'm talking to straight newscasts..." in primetime, on cable. (I wish George had stopped him right there and said, "there isn't a straight newscast anywhere on cable primetime..." ) He also asks George how many "feet and inches are in 10 meters?"
