Simon Cowell gets kissed at 'X Factor' day two auditions at Nassau Coliseum
Simon Cowell gave it to Long Island straight when he first stepped out on "The X Factor" stage at Nassau Coliseum for day two of auditions.
"Yesterday we saw 50 people: two good, 48 terrible," Cowell declared. "Long Island, I hope you deliver better today."
The talent pool remained a bit thin but kept the crowd entertained.
One woman from Harlem practically threw herself at Cowell, crooning Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get It On" as she slinked to his side of the judge's table to serenade him. The crowd roared; judges Demi Lovato, Kelly Rowland and Paulina Rubino laughed; and Cowell blushed.
Even the contestant's mother came running out to profess her love for Cowell: While rapping a sexy rhyme, she kissed the judge on both cheeks while seductively stroking his hair.
"We saved the best for last," the daughter said as she slowly hugged and kissed Cowell.
"I'll take both of you," he quipped. "You (the daughter) can have Monday, Wednesday and Friday."
When it came time to make a decision, Simon stated, "I feel slightly hypnotized by you. I want to experience that again."
Things picked up a bit later when one young man went home with the best judge's comment of the day after he sang a heartbreaking version of Bonnie Raitt's "I Can't Make You Love."
After a standing ovation, Cowell told him, "You're exactly the kind of artist I've been looking for on this show."
