Say goodbye to Kate Gosselin — at least as a reality-TV star.

TLC announced Monday that it has decided not to renew “Kate Plus 8,” the series that chronicled the lives of Gosselin, now a single mom, and her brood. That series, of course, was the successor to the highly rated “Jon & Kate Plus 8.”

“By the end of this season Kate Plus 8 will have hit the 150 episode mark (including Jon & Kate Plus 8); an exceptional milestone,” the network said in a statement. TLC did say it “hopes to check in with Kate and the family periodically with specials in the future."

The now-defunct Discovery Health channel first introduced the Gosselins to viewers in 2007 with the special “Surviving Sextuplets and Twins.” Its sister channel, TLC, turned the family’s adventures into a regular series, “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” starting in September 2008.

The show became one of TLC’s most popular. Within a year, the Gosselins became fixtures of the supermarket tabloids as rumors of John’s cheating surfaced. The couple subsequently went through a very public separation and divorce.

“Kate Plus 8" airs Mondays at 9 p.m. On tonight's episode, Gosselin answered viewers' questions, including whether she's dating again and how many plastic surgeries she's had. The final show will air Sept. 12.

Besides her reality shows, Kate Gosselin’s most notable TV work was as a contestant on “Dancing with the Stars” and as a guest co-host on “The View.”
