Willie Geist leaving ‘Today’ show’s third hour, Billy Bush named replacement
NBC on-air personality Willie Geist is ending his daily stint anchoring the “Today” show’s third hour.
Geist, 41, announced his departure on Monday’s show, saying that “Access Hollywood” anchor and “Today” contributor Billy Bush would be his replacement.
“I’ve been wearing a lot of hats lately. I have a big head, but not big enough for all those hats,” said Geist. “I’ll step away from the third hour, but I pass the hat to a guy with another big head. Billy Bush, the hat is yours.”
Geist will still co-host the Sunday edition of “Today” and co-host MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”
