Take out the cameras and smartphones, all of you camera-happy adoptive parents.
"Adoptive Families" magazine is holding its annual 2013 Cover Photo Contest. Eight finalists will be chosen and featured in its pages, and the winner will receive a digital camera and the coveted spot on one of its covers.
It's open only to those in the United States, submissions must be online, and deadline is Sept. 4. It’s meant to highlight adopted children, of course.
Most photos tend to be up close of happy children in rather nondescript backgrounds. Since children are adopted from all over the world, many show Asian, African and other nationalities. It's really a delight to see.
