I tested out YouCam Makeup. It is a simple, free and fun app to use. The purpose of this app is to give the illusion that the user is wearing makeup. When you first open the app you click on the tab that says makeup cam.

From there, the front camera on your device will open and your face will be displayed on the screen. At the bottom of the screen there are many different options as to what makeup look you want to go for. You have the option of editing your eyelashes, eyeshadow, eyeliner, lip color, blush, and looks. When you click on each of these tabs there are many options to choose from. If you click on the tab that is labeled “looks,” you can select a specific look and the app automatically transforms your whole face. This app had some in-app purchases. The company who created this app also created YouCam nails. This app is similar, only you are designing your nails instead of your makeup. When I compared this app with other similar apps, I found that this one was easier to use and worked immensely better. In this app the camera automatically detects your face while in other apps, you have to pinpoint the key features on your face such as eyes, lips, nose, etc. I had a lot of fun while using this app and I think that this is great to use when with friends. It’s worth a download.
