Beer joins wine at Vine Wine Bar in Merrick

There’s a change brewing at Vine Wine Bar in Merrick: The wine bar is greatly expanding its craft beer offerings with 10 local beers, ranging in price from $8 to $12 (for a 12-ounce bottle). Among the new brews are Long Ireland Beer Company Celtic Ale (Riverhead), Fire Island Beer Company Red Wagon IPA (Ocean Beach), Ommegang Rare Vos (Cooperstown) and Spider Bite Beer Company Boris the Spider Russian Imperial Stout (Holbrook). There will also always be a seasonal offering from Blue Point Brewing Company in Patchogue.

And that’s not all. Starting Oct. 9, Vine will host “craft beer Wednesdays,” when local producers will explain their brewing processes, offer guided tastings and answer questions.

Oct. 30: Spider Bite Beer Co.
