Locally owned Cabo Fresh, which specializes in burritos, tortillas and tacos, has opened a branch in Smithtown.
The new restaurant, located in the Uncle Giuseppe’s shopping center, is the third Cabo Fresh to open on Long Island, according to its owner, James DiVilio of Setauket.
Menu items for the California Mexican-style restaurant include seafood and meat burritos, crisp and soft tacos, quesadillas, nachos and fruit smoothies. Taco fillings include sweet pork carnitas, shrimp, seared ahi, chile-roasted beef, grilled steak and chicken.
Gluten-free and vegetarian options are also available, and everything on the menu costs less than $10, DiVilio says.
The first Cabo Fresh opened in 2011 in Stony Brook on Route 347 and the other opened three years later in Commack in the TJ Maxx shopping center on Jericho Turnpike.
DiVilio said in a phone interview on Tuesday that he has plans to open other Cabo Fresh restaurants on Long Island, but did not say where.
Cabo Fresh is at 79 Rte. 111, Smithtown, 631-360-2226, cabofreshmex.com.
