Dino's Joint, the cozy and colorful eatery owned by the late Dean "Dino" Philippis, has closed.

Signs posted on the windows of the Route 110 restaurant advise that "Roast Sandwich House" is coming soon.

Dino's Joint, fashioned to be a clubby hangout, offered diners framed photos of Philippis with Liberace, Mitzi Gaynor and Billy Joel, as well as an image of Dean Martin above the fireplace. The eatery specialized in steaks, seafood and Italian standards.

Philippis died in September. The family's restaurants include Piccolo in Huntington and Mill Pond House in Centerport, which remain open.
