Closed: Oasis in Sag Harbor
In a summer of many East End openings, Oasis, a veteran that earned its name for very good New American cooking along Noyac Road, has closed.
The eatery opened in May 2002, with easygoing style and flavorful dishes such as baked halibut finished with a star anise-and-Port reduction and grilled pork chops with cherry-rhubarb chutney. Recently, the fare included mini-tacos of tuna tartare, braised monkfish with clams and chorizo sausage, grilled shrimp with peanut pesto, and roasted chicken with shallot-mashed potatoes and spinach.
The bright, summery restaurant, at 3253 Noyac Rd., merited a two-star rating in Newsday.
Summer arrives, Oasis departs.
