36°Good Morning

Traditional in style and service, familiar in the kitchen, old-fashioned in appointments, Fianona knows its niche. It's the kind of restaurant where diners likely know what they want before seeing the menu. And that's fine. Fianona is dependable for soothing Italian fare. The stracciatelle, the Roman egg-drop soup, is mellow and flavorful. Seafood salad glistens with mildly seasoned squid and company. They send out a satisfying spaghetti alla carbonara and a generous rack of lamb. Stuffed mushrooms are a bit overdone, and snapper Livornese more pungent than necessary. Sweet cannoli and ample cheesecake are the notable finales. Fianona is a very friendly neighborhood stop.
