DJ Theo to play the Allegria in Long Beach
As the Allegria Hotel in Long Beach continues its move toward bigger parties and nightlife (via their “Salsa Mondays” and Wednesday classics gatherings), perhaps its largest yet takes place on Sunday, Aug. 7 as the popular DJ Theodore “Theo” Pisani is set to splash down for the grand opening of its new series of pool parties.
Taking place up on the roof, the event starts at 2 p.m. and is scheduled to run until 2 a.m. Designed to mirror bashes often held in South Beach (Miami), attendees should dress in chic-yet-beachy fare and expect a personality to match — so consider purchasing table service to get the best vantage by the pool (it’s a 3-bottle minimum; prices vary as per selection).
Other guest DJs will spin — including DJ Dimitri, another successful area mixer who is well-known for his frequent work at Four Food Studio in Melville and around New York City — but it is definitely the appearance by headliner Pisani that is likely to generate some serious turnout.
A standard summer player at Neptune Beach Club in East Quogue, Theo is also a coveted remix producer and has a successful series of albums titled “Summer Clubbing” under the Nervous Records record label. This year Pisani has played a number of special gigs around Nassau and Suffolk counties — but until now this trendy Long Beach hospitality spot wasn’t known to feature Pisani’s level of player at its promotions. However, with this get-together titled “Vamos a la Playa” to be followed by similar Sunday soirées under the heading of “Sun-daze” at the Allegria rooftop pool, it appears the hotel is upping its party profile.
It’s a 21-and-over affair, and although the previously mentioned table service is a wise plan of action to gain entrance, male patrons can also attempt to attend by paying a cover charge (not yet set, but expect in the neighborhood of $20) while female guests are in free all day and night.
