'Wall Street' returning to Hauppauge (with a new look)
If you are among the people who could never stop referring to the nightclub at 573 Nesconset Hwy. in Hauppauge as “Wall Street,” it turns out that won’t be a problem anymore.
It’s been close to a decade since this venue space used the name taken from Manhattan’s world-famous financial boulevard — with such monikers as “Viper Bar,” "Bianco Ultralounge” and, most-recently, “Silk Ultralounge” used in place — but as of Thursday evening (July 12), the sign hoisted to the marquee features a rendering of a bull, the name Wall Street and a quick sentence: “Book your party now .?.?. Opening soon | 631-656-6550.”
There is still a great deal of construction under way, and many details remain unannounced, but as per the club’s Facebook page, Wall Street will be aiming for a well-dressed clientele 25-and-older (versus the Silk crowd that leaned toward a young 21-30).
Other informational tidbits mentioned via social media include that the installation of porcelain floors, a food bar, two 82” LED TVs, an outdoor smoking area, updated lighting, a mahogany bar and new stage has either completed or is soon to be finished — but for many of the older Long Island nightclub patrons still enjoying the dance scene, the excitement of hearing the familiar name return is one of the most exciting developments of all (and for those who need a taste, just call the aforementioned phone number; you will hear a voice-mail message stating: “Welcome .?.?. to Wall Street”).
