Just over a year after it opened, Greek Bites Grill has closed in Mattituck, the spinoff to the Moriches location of Greek Bites Grill and Cafe owned by Spiro and Dimitra Laopodis.

“It was a tough location to make a go of it and it was really hard to find reliable staff,” Dimitra Laopodis said. “So we decided to close and count our blessings.”

Instead, they’ll focus on the Moriches shop that’s been in business for 10 years in October. In the next few months, the family will enclose the outdoor seating area and expand the restaurant.

Expect Greek-American classics to remain on the menu, such as avgolemono, Greek salads, taramosalata, grape leaves, saganaki, gyros and souvlaki.
