If you were thinking of stopping into Horace & Sylvia's Publick House in Babylon for a pulled pork flatbread, a burger or a bowl of lobster bisque, better put it off. The place plans to close until July 10.
Owner Carl Clausen said that the July Fourth holiday is good time of year for renovations, as the village tends to be quieter than usual. Every year, the restaurant closes to spruce things up and this year a new floor -- one that's slightly lighter than color than the old floor -- is being installed.
Clausen added that once it reopens, the restaurant will be offering midweek specials, such as a New England lobster roll plus a glass of house wine or draft beer for $15 on Monday nights.
Horace & Sylvia's Publick House is at 100 Deer Park Ave., Babylon, 631-587-5081
