At 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Apr. 28, Jackson’s in Commack will morph into fictional late-night breakfast joint called Hashbrown Harry's.
Co-owner Shelby Poole and her husband, executive chef Harry Poole, dreamed up the tongue-in-cheek event, which features a 7-course menu at $55 a person, inclusive of tax and gratuity.
The menu, subject to change on inspiration, reads as follows so far:
Duo of hot and cold cereals: Rehydrated fruit porridge / house-made organic fruit loops
—
Torched ruby red grapefruit with a fresh baked “Pop Tart”
--
Lox sashimi/"everything” cream cheese / bagel tuille / latke hashbrowns
—
Carrot cake French toast with pecan icing syrup
—
Crispy chicken skin Benedict with Andouille hash / bacon and corn-infused hollandaise
—
Migas: Cheddar, jalapeño and tortilla scrambled eggs / refried black beans/ avocado crème fraîche / house made tortillas
—
Dessert course:
Sparkling individual birthday cakes
For the road: Brownies/caramelized rosemary / sea salt
Drinks: Bacon-maple infused Manhattans / cereal milk / hot chocolate with house-made marshmallows.
Even though the breakfast-dinner is over a week away, it's booking up quickly, said Shelby Poole. Reservations may be made on Open Table or by calling the restaurant.
Jackson's is at 6005 Jericho Tpke., Commack, 631-462-0822.
