Sure, the days are lengthening and the trees are starting to bud, but the surest sign of the new season on Long Island is the arrival of Spring Restaurant Week which this year runs from April 27 to May 4.

More than 160 eateries in Nassau and Suffolk counties are offering patrons a choice of fixed-price options: Restaurants may offer a $24 two-course lunch and / or a three-course dinner for $29, $39 or $46. These menus are in effect whenever the restaurant is open, with the exception of Saturday, May 3, when the deal only needs to be offered until 7 p.m.

Among restaurants joining Restaurant Week for the first time are Pierogibites & More, the Bellmore eatery serving unsung specialties from Poland; Plado Tasting Bar and Otherside Wine Bar, two places helping to usher in Glen Cove’s restaurant renaissance; AG Steakhouse, Westbury’s independently owned Brazilian steakhouse; Súp Vietnamese restaurants in Massapequa and Rockville Centre; Symi, the fish-centric Greek restaurant in Northport; Vespa Italian Kitchen & Bar in Farmingdale; The Palm in East Hampton; Ocean Club Montauk, the new restaurant at the Montauk Yacht Club on Star Island.

Notable participating Suffolk spots include R. AIRE in Hampton Bays, Casa Rustica in Smithtown, Chachama Grill in East Patchogue, Edoardo’s Trattoria in Huntington, Jackson Hall in Islip, Mirabelle in Stony Brook, Shippy’s in Southampton, The James in Babylon. In Nassau: Bluebird Kitchen in Bellmore, Foster in Sea Cliff, Lau Vietnamese Pho in Farmingdale, Oak & Vine in Glen Cove, Primehouse Steak & Sushi and Spaghettini Pizza & Trattoria in Mineola.
