It’s arrivederci to Ciao by the Beach and happy summer to The Arbor, a Mediterranean-style restaurant opening soon at the Fort Pond Road site in Montauk.

The Arbor currently is under construction, with an opening in late May expected. The restaurant is owned by private-equity billionaire Marc Rowan, who also purchased the landmark Duryea’s Lobster Deck and seafood market in Montauk.

While there have been some renovations to Duryea’s, the food and the look generally remain pretty much as customers have enjoyed them for decades.

The makeover of the Ciao by the Beach site, however, is thorough.

Diners can expect a raw bar, small plates, salads, pizzas, and main courses in the $24 to $35 range; with appetizers about $11 to $17. The Arbor will include a 30-foot bar, a wine cellar, and 15 to 20 wines by the glass. The restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner.

The Arbor, 240 Fort Pond Rd., Montauk; 631-238-5430.
