Seafood restaurant Day Boat Cafe returns with pop-up in Roslyn

Day Boat Cafe was a terrific, New England-style fish shack that made a splash in Roslyn in 2008. It was ruined in a fire. But John Durkin's compact classic is making a brief summer comeback this year.
Day Boat on the Deck is open for dinner Tuesday to Saturday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. The outdoor seating fits 35 diners on the deck of Trattoria Diane in Roslyn.
Durkin's menu includes a lobster roll with shoestring fries, a grilled 1.5-pound lobster, day-boat scallops, fish and chips, fried oysters, fritto misto, mussels meuniere, seafood stew, a crabcake BLT sandwich, linguine with clams, baked clams, tuna tartare, shrimp cocktail, and corn-and-lobster chowder. The tab: $12 to $15 for starters; $17 to $34 for main courses, and market price for the grilled lobster and the lobster roll.
