Greenport is expected to lose its only Japanese restaurant this Sunday. That's when chef Taka Meguro will serve the final dragon rolls and sushi-sashimi platters at the Sushi Sasuke Club. If you’re planning on a last visit, know that the place no longer serves alcohol or accepts credit cards.
Sasuke debuted less than a year ago in a space shared with D’Latte. D'Latte (and building) owner Frank Purita said he plans on serving D’Latte’s panini and gelato repertoire in the vacated space by day; later, at night, he’ll offer a “light Italian” menu. Purita said he's got something up his sleeve for a future venture but plans aren't fully formed as yet.
Watch for updates.
D’Latte is at 216 Main St., and Sushi Sasuke Club is at 218 Main St., Greenport, 631-477-6738 (shared phone),
