The local forecast is for deep-freeze temperatures tomorrow and through the week. But there's an upside to entering winter: stone crabs.

These pricey and delicious Florida delicacies are making their way north. You'll find them at Rare650 in Syosset and Bryant & Cooper in Roslyn.

The capital of the stone crab is, of course, is Joe's Stone Crab on Washington Avenue in Miami Beach.  The sweet claws of the crustacean now have extended from headquarters to other branches and to destination restaurants that import them.

Expect to pay $49-$55 per pound for these black-tipped delicacies, and savor them with mustard sauce.
