The big catch is back.
Trata, the Greek restaurant known for its charcoal-grilled whole fish, has reopened for the 2012 season. Late last year, the eatery was closed, along with Trata in Roslyn.
The reborn Water Mill spot is expected to remain open through the end of September. Its menu includes whole fish such as imported red fagri and lavraki, or Mediterranean snapper and bass from Greece; tiger shrimp from East Africa; and langoustines from Scotland. There also are more familiar main dishes, from moussaka and grilled lamb chops to roasted chicken and sesame-seared tuna.
Jose Luis Falcon, who excelled at the Water Mill restaurant and earned three stars in Newsday for his cooking in Roslyn, once again is the chef in Water Mill. This year he's making his own bread and ice cream.
