Tullulah's closing to relocate within Bay Shore
Tullulah's, the eclectic bar and restaurant in Bay Shore, is closing Oct. 26 so the business can relocate just down the road later this year.
The restaurant has had a nearly two decade run at 10 Fourth Ave., serving house made pastas, small plates like crispy lamb with naan bread and tuna crudo and whimsical classics such as truffled arancini, smoked Gouda mac and cheese (with pork belly). Its also has a robust bar scene.
"We’ve been in this location for 18 years, and the lease has expired," owner Steve Scalesse said. The new location, at 56 W. Main St., has a separate private event space as well as "an outdoor patio, two bars and a state-of-the-art kitchen, which will allow our chef, who is coming with us, to fly."
For those looking to get a final fix, Tullulah's is serving food — but not cocktails — until the end of the month. The current location lost its liquor license due to complications transferring between the old and new locations, Scalesse said. He hopes to be open "before the end of the year" and plans for Tullulah's to be in Bay Shore for the long haul.
"The new spot is our final space and our new home," Scalesse said. "I signed a 30-year lease. It’s all good news."
