64°Good afternoon

If you're collecting Social Security and need proof of the amount you've received in benefits, you can get a Benefit Verification Letter online. These official letters from the Social Security Administration are typically used by seniors who want to get a loan or mortgage or need proof of their income to qualify for benefits from state and local agencies.

You first have to set up a "My Social Security" account (nwsdy.li/myaccountssa). Once you establish your account, you can customize the information you want put in or left out of your verification letter.

To watch an instructional video about how to request a Benefit Verification Letter online, go to nwsdy.li/letterssa. You can also request a Benefit Verification Letter at any local Social Security office.
