Police seek woman who punched Baldwin beauty store worker
Nassau County police are searching for a female suspect they said attempted to steal merchandise from a Baldwin beauty store and punched an employee who tried to intervene.
Police said that at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 4, the suspect entered Lucky Beauty Supply on Grand Avenue and was seen removing items from shelves and putting them in a black bag.
A female store employee approached the suspect and a struggle ensued, police said in a news release. The suspect punched the store employee in the face and pulled her hair, police said. The victim was able to retrieve the stolen items before the suspect fled the store on foot, police said.
It's not known what items she tried to take or the value of the merchandise.
Police said the suspect is described as having a large build, wearing a black wig, a brown dress, black slide sandals and glasses with gold framing. She had tattoos on her right arm.
