Hempstead woman charged in stabbing death in Freeport, police say

A woman is charged with manslaughter in the fatal stabbing of a man "during a domestic incident" on Friday night in Freeport, Nassau police said.
Ivory Washington, 46, stabbed "an adult male victim" who was found in front of 139 Frederick Ave., around 7 p.m. on Friday, police said in a news release.
First responders administered medical aid to the victim before transporting him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead around 8:30 p.m., police said.
Police have not released any more information about the victim or the domestic incident that led up to the stabbing.
Washington, of Hempstead, was arrested after the stabbing, police said. She also was taken to a hospital for evaluation, although police did not provide any information about her injuries.
Washington is charged with first-degree manslaughter and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Washington will appear in court "when medically practical," Nassau police said.
