One of two men who were shot Monday in Hempstead has died  of his injuries, Nassau County police said Tuesday.

Police identified the man as Matthew Gilreath, 28, of Hempstead.

 They also said they have arrested James Wilson, 35, of Brooklyn, in connection with the shooting. Wilson has been charged with second-degree murder. He will be arraigned when "medically practical," police said.

The shooting occurred on Terrace Avenue, police said. They received a call about the shooting at 2:47 a.m.

Authorities have not  disclosed the name of the second victim, who police said was seriously injured.
